The curved brickwork above this window opening forms a brick arch lintel that in turn supports the weight of the wall above.
Over a period of time the brick arch had started to fail and had physically dropped by 20 mm to the right hand side.
This then caused issues and cracked brickwork above the brick arch lintel that becomes loose and cracks as well as to the window below.
We were able to temporarily support and prop the existing brick arch before raising it back into its original position.
Two rows of helical bar were then inserted above the brick arch and grouted into position to form a masonry beam.
Ties were then inserted through the brick arch brickwork back to the masonry beam to form a full repair.
